Welcome to the personal technical webpage of Professor Lilin Yi’s team!

Laboratory of Optical Signal Processing and Access Networks (OSPAN) belongs to the future ready optical network technology (FRONT) group.

The blossom of global telecommunication networks brings plenty of technical challenges to optical communication area, such as improved flexibility in switching, increased capacity in access, enhanced security in transmission. Our lab focuses on the research of advanced optical signal processing techniques, and makes efforts to find solutions for the key technical challenges.

The ongoing research activities in our lab can be categorized as below:

Intelligent optical communication system:

1. Intelligent optical transmission (Solving the problem of optical fiber nonlinear channel compensation)

2. Intelligent optical security (Solving high-speed and long-distance physical layer security issues)

3. Intelligent optical access (Solving the problem of high-speed and low-cost optical access)

Intelligent Laser Systems:

1. Intelligent ultrafast laser (Solving the problem of adaptive optimization and control of ultrafast laser)

2. Intelligent spectral control (Solving the problem of spectral high-resolution control)

3. Anti-jamming lidar (Solving the anti-jamming problem of autonomous driving lidar)

We devote ourselves to making breakthroughs in the above mentioned fields and try to make achievements that have world-wild influence in both academia and industry.

In order to keep pace with the world research frontiers, our lab seeks for communication and cooperation with both domestic and international partners. We have built up long-term relationship in joint student training and project collaboration with Telecom ParisTech optical communications group in France, KTH Optical Networks Laboratory in Sweden and DTU metro-access group in Denmark. At home, we have close cooperation with enterprises, including China Telecom, Huawei, ZTE, FiberHome, Alcatel-Lucent, Accelink, State Grid, II-VI Networks Solution, Finisar, Sunano Group, etc.

Our lab emphasizes the training of both technical skills and soft power to improve students’ ability on learning, fast-adaptive, presentation and communication. We are aiming at supplying competitive talents for both academia and industry. Welcome candidates majoring in communications or optics related areas to apply for master, PhD or postdoc programs in our group!
